Chapter 124
He pivoted, retrieving his phone to make a call.
“Mr. Flynn,” Phillips’ voice came through from the other end.
“I need you to do something for me,” Eric responded curtly. “Check if Hadley resides on West Twelfth Alley.”
Hadley had previously headed to the Central Cinema in Metropolitan Plaza as Elvin requested to meet the movie director Adonis, who was quite taken with her.
They set a date for her dance audition, and that day had arrived. Arriving makeup-free so they could style her however they saw fit for the production, Hadley immediately reached out to Elvin.
“Hadley!”
Elvin rushed over, despite being swamped, and led her to the dressing room where a makeup artist was quickly arranged.
“Join the others outside once you’re finished with your makeup,” he instructed.
“Alright, thank you,” Hadley replied.
The other women in the dressing room, all coming to audition for the stand-in for the lead actress, wore identical makeup and outfits. These stand-ins weren’t chosen for their distinctive features. Instead, their bodies were the focus.
However, the makeup artists were still struck by Hadley’s noticeable features. Luckily, she was only a stand-in because her allure might have overshadowed the lead actress otherwise. After getting ready, the women assembled outside.
Adonis, ever thorough, personally supervised the audition.
Each stand-in performed their dance routine under his watchful eye.
When Hadley’s turn came, Adonis briefly reviewed her file, noting her graduation from Chauncey Academy of Art and her impressive dance skills.
Yet, it was her remarkable stage presence that truly captured his attention.
“Elvin.”

“Right here!”
“Bring her over,” directed Adonis, pointing at the stage where Hadley was dancing. “Immediately.”
Elvin, sensing a positive outcome, hurried to retrieve Hadley, whom he had recommended.
“Mr. Faulkner, she’s here.”
“Alright.”
Re-examining her file, Adonis confirmed, “Hadley Pearson?”
“Yes.”
Standing confidently with her hands neatly folded, Hadley appeared serene and poised. She stood undisturbed by the attention.
After all, being visible was part of being a dancer.
“Not bad,” Adonis commended, nodding in approval. “Did you study modern dance?” he inquired.
“Yes, I did.”
“Do you have any other plans besides dancing?”
