Lila hadn’t answered when Landon spoke up first, “Let’s play one more round! I can turn things around!”
He looked at her eagerly.
Lila, soft-hearted as ever, couldn’t resist when someone pleaded like that. “One last round.”

Feeling the warmth of his hand on her waist, Lila glanced at Kieran as they shuffled the cards.
She lowered her voice. “I’m not tired yet.”
It wasn’t the right time to massage her waist, not with so many people looking.
Seeing her intention, he leaned in closer, his body nearly pulling her into his embrace.
Lila glanced at him, and though her expression was calm as usual, Kieran could sense a hint of pleading in her gaze.
He backed off slightly, not because he didn’t want to tease her but because he worried he might lose composure first.
She had no idea how to tease him.
Lila continued to play, her luck still strong, but she deliberately held back, wanting to let Landon win.
He was two years younger than her, and she treated the game like playing with a child. Besides, Kieran wasn’t short on money.
Landon won the game and strutted around like a victorious rooster, his tail

Kieran glanced at the cards in Lila’s hand with a look of helplessness.

“Why the rush?” Landon protested. “This night was specially arranged for you guys.”
But Kieran had already stood up, pulling Lila with him. “You guys continue.”
Seeing his attitude, Landon didn’t protest further and smiled at Lila. “Let’s play together again next time.”
Lila nodded. The people nearby almost burst into laughter after seeing the cards in her hand.
“Mr. West, didn’t you realize that Ms. Hart was letting you win?”
