The next day, Lila returned to the city ahead of them.
Kieran told her to head back to Evergreen Heights first and said that he would
take her to get her makeup and change her clothes later.
While Kieran was showering, Lila played games in the living room.
When she heard the doorbell, she opened the door without much thought.
“Is Mr. Morgan here?” Shannon spoke first.
She was still dressed in a neat uniform, her hair cut to shoulder length, with a single pearl earring dangling from her ear.
