Mr. Burton raised an eyebrow. “Help with what? Foolishness, stupidity, or are you just imagining problems?”
Rachel’s eyelashes fluttered, and she took a sharp breath, visibly flustered.
Mr. Burton seemed to take note, his gaze settling on her. “Young lady, your breathing is a bit rapid, heart rate’s up… Feeling a tad nervous, are we?”
Rachel forced a smile, her voice a little shaky. “I just… feel a bit stuffy, not quite myself.”
Mr. Burton adjusted his reading glasses, scrutinizing her with an amused air. “Not quite yourself? Well, you look perfectly healthy to me. Glowing, even.”
He surveyed the three of them, suspicion etched on his face. “So, which one of you is here for a diagnosis?”
Jasper shot him a skeptical look. “You can’t even tell who’s got a serious condition? You might just be a quack.”
Mr. Burton glanced at him, unfazed. “You’ve got a fiery temper, prone to foul moods. Bad breath, constipation, irregular bowel movements. Smoking, drinking, late nights with no restraint-your kidneys are taking a hit.”
He paused, letting the words sink in, then added in a leisurely tone, “Currently, you have mild dysfunction. If untreated, it might… affect your male performance.
Best you treat it soon, or else your future wife might find herself… rather disappointed.”
