Xenia’s fingers flew over her phone, dialing Truman’s number. The call connected in a blink.
“Hey, Nenia, it’s only 2 PM. Your shindig isn’t for another six hours. You’re not calling to rush me, are you?” Truman. answered with a hint of amusement in his voice.
“Uncle Truman, one of your artists went off on Twitter, and now everyone’s spreading rumors and saying Fairy Cherise is a hick who goes after old men. It’s driving me crazy. Are you going to handle this or not? Xenia said in anger. Truman, startled by Xenia’s volume, held the phone away from is ear. “What? Say that again. Which artist? I’ve been in a meeting and I’m out of the loop”
Xenia took a deep breath, slowed her speech, and lowered her voice. “It’s Melissa, the headliner at Artiverse Entertainment. She tweeted something snarky, and now Fairy Cherise is getting slammed, being called unsophisticated and vain.”
She continued. “And the worst part is Shirley, who posted the engagement breakup online. With the intelligence of this crowd, they can’t grasp the nuances,”
Truman finally got the picture and indignantly said, “Outrageous They dare to talk about Cherise like that. They’re the unsophisticated ones. I’m on it. Don’t worry, Xenia.”
After hearing Truman’s words, Xenia finally hung up, feeling a bit more at ease.
Back in his office after the call. Truman pondered and decided he should fill Morris in on the situation. After all, Morris was the real president behind Artiverse Entertainment. Melissa was from the Chambers family, and Morris seemed to have à special interest in Cherise. “Yep, that’s what I’ll do,” Truman said, nodding to himself.
Morris was in the middle of an emergency high-level meeting, usually not paying attention to the entertainment industry, and he was completely unaware of the rumors about Cherise online,

The dozens of high-level executives on both sides of the conference table looked at each other, confused, not daring to discuss it, and they could only silently get up and return to their posts.

Even the recent tweets from superstar Melissa were nowhere to be found, leaving only the news of Jeffrey and Shirley’s upcoming engagement. Some lurking netizens were curious about Cherise’s background. One moment, there were rumors about her everywhere. and the next, they couldn’t even find her name in the search bar. Others were relieved they hadn’t joined in the fray.
Shirley was puzzled. She had been enjoying the attacks on Cherise and didn’t understand why the rumors suddenly disappeared, and why the trending news now wished her and Jeffrey a lifetime of happiness.
As for Melissa, she was on her way to a photoshoot when she was told all her endorsements were canceled and her Twitter was also suspended.
