“Of course,” Morris said, rolling down the car window as he spoke
Cherise let the evening breeze tousle her hair, the city lights casting a drarnatic glow on her features.
Morris, entranced, felt an immediate bond with her, as if they were old acquaintances.
Xenia, behind the wheel of a Ferrari, joked to Truinan, “Truma given my expertise in romance novels, I find it hard to believe Morris is interested in Cherise. He’s not exactly the dating type, is he? I even wondered if he might be gay
Truman disagreed with a shake of his head. “That’s just Morris. He’s not with anyone because he’s holding out for the perfect match. When he finds her, watch out.”
Xenia rolled her eyes. “You all are such superficial judges. Cherise is stunning. If I were a man, I’d be captivated by her too.” Truman concurred. “Your grandma always says that first impressions are based on appearance, and second on wealth, but Cherise has a natural beauty that stands out.”
As their lively discussion continued, they chatted like a couple of noisy crows.
“Truth is, if Cherise had been in Betrico from the start, she would have easily surpassed her stepsister, Shirley, in both looks and intellect, Xenia commented
“What? Shirley is Cherise’s stepsister? Jacob and Claire’s daughter? So Jacob is Cherise’s biological father? Cherise is the real deal?” Truman’s surprise was palpable.
Xenia confirmed, keeping her focus on driving.
“Well, Cherise is engaged to Jeffrey. It seems Betrico is about to witness some changes,” Truman sighed.
Meanwhile, Morris and Cherise pulled up at Glenshire Gardens a high-end complex reserved for the elite.
Morris stepped out to help Cherise with her hefty luggage. “These are quite heavy. Let me give you a hand with them upstairs.”
Cherise smiled and politely declined, “No need. Thank you, Mr. Chivers. She was actually quite capable of handling her luggage with her own strength.

“Formalities are unnecessary. Since you’re a friend of Xenia, youre a friend of mine,” Morris replied with a friendly grin, instantly making them feel more at ease. “Alright, Morris, Cherise conceded, still somewhat reserved.
Morris was pleased and, with his persistence, Cherise accepted his help with her bags

After entering with a password and a simple switch, they found themselves in a contemporary, log-cabin-inspired space that was cozy and welcoming
“Thank you for escorting me home. It’s getting late, you should head home and get some rest,” Cherise suggested.
Morris chuckled, perceiving her subtle attempt to dismiss him, but he was patient-she was young and he believed there
would be plenty of time to build their relationship.
“Alright, it is getting late. Till next time,” he agreed.
Once back in his car. Morris made a phone call, and, upon the other party answering, he promptly commanded. “Prepare an apartment in Glenshire Gardens, on the 26th floor, for my use.”
Once settled into her new home, Cherise sent a text to Dennis and Bella, informing them of her safe arrival, and then began to explore her new surroundings.
The apartment, with its soothing creamy brown hues, provided a tranquil atmosphere. The expansive floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room provided a breathtaking view of Betrico’s vibrant cityscape and the expansive coastline.
