I woke up in the morning and felt like my head was going to split into two. Daxon is such a petty b*tch. He was probably pacing all night knowing it was going to give a massive headache when I woke up.

“f**k you Daxon. This doesn’t change my mind about anything, just so you know“, I said to him through the mindlink and he only growled in reply.

I got up and went to brush my teeth and rinsed my face before I decided to the basement to work out, it’s the only way to let off steam and anger and I was f**king angry at everything.

I went down the stairs and no one was awake yet, I guess it’s still early. I checked the time when I entered the basement turned gym and it was 6:30am. I am surely awake early for someone that has been on a rollercoaster of events since yesterday,

I took the first swing at the punching bag and I just imagined it was the Moon goddess, the one who decided to play with my life like this..

Slam. For making me find my mate late. Slam. For making my mate a rogue, creatures that I despise with my very being. Slam. For making my parents not dislike her because she’s my mate. I could have easily gotten rid of her if my parents had seen her as a threat.

I punched the bag over and over and over until I felt sticky liquid around my knuckles. My knuckles were bleeding. I didn’t even know I was hitting the punching bag so hard until I heard Dad’s voice behind

“I pity the poor punching bag, it would have passed out from pain if it were human. Wanna spar with me instead?“He asked, smirking at me.

I looked at the wall clock and it was already 9:00 am. I was punching the bag with so much anger and concentration, I did not realize time was far spent. Dad was messing with me on purpose but I wasn’t going to back down.

“Bring it on, old man“. I said, getting into position and flexing my already healed fingers. Perks of being a werewolf.

He smirked and got into position too. He taught me everything I knew about fighting so it wasn’t going to be easy to defeat him, especially when I’m angry like this. I should get some relief from Fay when I’m done here.

I threw the first punch and he blocked it. landing one on my stomach making me stagger back. It hurt like a b*tch but I got into position again. Dad was still smirking at me, he knows what he’s doing.

“So you’re going to reject her?“He asked as I swung another punch in his direction, which he successfully dodged.

“She’s a rogue. Dad. I have to reject her for the sake of everyb*dy. I can’t make the same mistake twice“. I said as he landed another blow on my ribs.

“I’m sure Daxon doesn’t agree with your decision. she’s his mate too you know?” He said throwing punches I keep dodging.

Daxon is a b*tch, he’s just being emotional because he felt the mate pull this time around too. I felt the mate pull the last time too and I know what happened when I acted on it.

I got angry and started throwing punches blindly. I wasn’t even calculating Dad’s next move until he landed a blow that had me on my

back. I did not bother sitting up and just sprawled on the flow

breathing heavily. I heard Dad leave the basement and still laid down on the floor not moving.

I sat up after a while and checked the time, it was already noon. Jeez, I need to get my act together. I mindlinked Nathan to ask if he had carried out my order.

“Hey man, what’s up?“, His voice came through the mindlink.

“Where’s she?“I asked not even bothering with pleasantries. I need to know where she is so I can avoid such places.

“At the pack house. I handed her over to Julie as a maid“, I nodded my head even though he could not see me. At least she’s in good hands. not like I care. Juliana is like the pack’s nanny, everyb*dy likes her.

“Okay man, I’ll see you later” I told him and cut off the mindlink.

I stood up and went to my room to freshen up greeting Mom who’s in the living room on the way. She told me I should come down when I’m done freshening up,to eat and she also had something to discuss with me. I mentally rolled my eyes because I know she’s going to talk about mate but I agreed anyways.

I freshened up and changed into a pair of gray sweatpants with a white thin t–shirt that clung to my frame and made my way down to eat my food.

I had a cup of fresh coffee while Mom made my food for me. She always treats me like I’m still a baby which I’m grateful for when it comes to food.

She made pancakes, a whole lot of them and stacked them on my plate. I had them with syrup and strawberries. I love mom’s cooking, it’s always so delicious.

I finished eating and cleaned my plate and placed it in its proper place before joining Mom in the living room. I knew what she was going to discuss but decided to humor her nonetheless.

“Oh, hey, you’re done eating. Took you a while to finish your workout today, anything bothering you?“She asked innocently like she had no idea what I was going through.

“Mom, cut the act. I’m going to reject her and go ahead with Fay as my Luna as planned“, I snapped at her.

“No, you’re not going to reject her!“She boomed in my ear and I just stood up and made my way to my study to do some paperwork. It’s been left to me as the next Alpha.

I was engrossed in the paperwork, I did not realize time was far spent until I heard my mother’s voice in my head.

“There’s someone I want you to meet, get down here“, she said and the midlink went quiet. I wonder what she wants now.

I exited my room and was hit with the most amazing smell I’ve ever smelt, pineapple and coconut. I palmed my face when I realized what that meant but a part of me wanted to know what my supposed mate looks like so I kept moving towards the scent.

I saw her before she saw me. She looked thin and malnourished and my heart broke at the sight of her. Her eyes met mine and they widened in fear, she tried to make herself even tinier than she was and I wanted to slap myself.

Daxon whimpered in my head at the sight of her tiny frame and I almost went up to her to grab her and keep her close to me at all times. Her beautiful blue eyes teared up and I mentally kicked myself, I’m the cause of her tears and pain.

“I don’t think I’ve introduced her to you. Adrian meet Lola, our new

maid“, Mom smiled at me mischievously.

I looked at her the same time she looked at me with wide eyes and cursed Mom in my head.
