“Elizabeth,” he said, “whether this child stays or not, isn’t up to me.”

“You can’t even make this decision? Whose approval do you need?” Elizabeth asked urgently. “Is it the Ellison family? I understand now, I have no title, no status. If I want to bear a child for the Ellison family, it would never be justified…”

David shook his head. “It has nothing to do with the Ellison family.”

If his grandpaknow someone was carrying an Ellison heir, he will be thrilled regardless of who the mother was.

Elizabeth was even more confused. “Then what is it? Mr. Ellison, who could possibly dictate your decisions?”

He exhaled slowly and uttered a single name.“Caroline.”
