“You… you…” Caroline’s lips parted slightly, completely stunned.
She couldn’t tell whether David was serious or just toying with her.

She wasn’t that easily fooled. Nor was she that easily swayed. A man’s words could never be trusted.
Who knew what David was really up to? What if this was just a trick to make her abort the baby first?
Besides, Caroline had no intention of bearing David’s children.
All she wanted was a divorce. And after that, to never see him again for the rest of her life!

Even he didn’t quite understand what he was doing. Why have I made that promise to her? Why am I offering to let her bear my children? Deep down… is there a part of me that actually wanted a child with her?
He had plenty of options. Women were lining up, eager to bear his children. And every single one of them was clean, obedient, far more suitable than Caroline.
So why was she the only one he had chosen?
Caroline hesitated before speaking. “Aren’t you the one joking with me?”
David nearly wanted to strangle her. Why am I even wasting his time with this foolish woman? Did she really think I would joke about something like this?
David’s cold gaze swept over the Brooks family before he grabbed Caroline’s wrist.
“Let’s go!”
This was a family matter. But more than that–this was matter between him and Caroline.
