So You’re Carrying My Child?
Caroline had only ever been with a once on her wedding night, with a stranger in a hotel room.
It had been her first time.

She didn’t even know who he was or what he looked like, only recalling the scorching heat of their bodies pressed together.
And now, she was pregnant.
What was she supposed to do? Keep the baby or… Not?
As an orphan, Caroline had always longed for someone in this world who shared her blood, a real connection.
Now that she was pregnant, would she truly lack the right or the courage to bring her child into this world?
“Thank you,” Caroline said, calming her nerves and looking at the doctor. “Can I ask you for a favor?”
“Of course,” the doctor replied.
“Please keep my pregnancy confidential,” she said with a faint smile. “I want to tell my family myself.”
The doctor nodded. “Certainly.”
She exhaled in relief, knowing her pregnancy was safely kept a secret for now.
At the same time, she made a decision, This baby…
She was going to keep it.
No matter who the father was, she was the mother, and she had the right to decide this child’s future.
Before her pregnancy began to show,
she had to finalize her divorce from David.
Caroline carefully tucked the medical report away and returned to the Ellison residence after her IV
treatment.
The moment she stepped into the living room, she saw David sitting on the sofa, his posture upright and commanding.
He was home.
“Not dead yet?” he asked coldly.
“Thanks to you, I’m still alive,” she shot back, her tone equally sharp.
So he wanted sarcasm? She could play along.
“You’re pretty capable, getting my mom to rescue you, David remarked, lifting his gaze toward her. “Quite the strategy.”
“I can’t figure out how someone as kind as your mom could have such a cold–blooded, heartless son,” she

David’s lips curved slightly, but his eyes remained devoid of warmth. “Caroline, it seems you’ve forgotten why you ended up in the punishment room.”
Her heart sank.
Because she wasn’t obedient, wasn’t submissive, and dared to defy him!
She had just gotten out of the hospital, and here she was, forgetting the lesson already.
If this were before, Caroline wouldn’t have cared, but… Thinking of the child in her belly…
Fine. She’d endure it.
She had to protect her baby.
Caroline stayed silent, and the room grew oppressively quiet.
David wasn’t about to let her off so easily. Leaning lazily against the sofa, he drawled, “What’s the matter? Cat got your tongue?”
“I wouldn’t dare disturb Mr. David,” she replied. “I’ll just head to my room now.”
If she couldn’t win, she’d retreat.

“Stop,” David commanded, halting her in her tracks. “You haven’t apologized yet.”
He was determined to break her.
No one had ever dared to act out in front of him, least of all her–a bride chosen for superstitious reasons, with no standing or dignity.
If he wanted to crush her, it would be as easy as stepping on an ant.
Caroline took a deep breath, turned around, and faced him. “I’m sorry, Mr. David. It was my fault. You’re magnanimous, a man with a heart as big as the ocean. Please don’t stoop to my level. I promise I’ll never go against you again. Please forgive me!”
She rattled off her apology in one breath, even bowing deeply at a perfect ninety degrees to show sincerity.
Surely, that was enough.
But what Caroline hadn’t anticipated was that as she bent down, the zipper on her bag, which wasn’t fully closed, came undone, spilling its contents onto the carpet.
That would’ve been fine, except her pregnancy report was among the items that fell out!
At that moment, Caroline felt her heart stop.
She scrambled to pick everything up, hastily shoving it back into her bag.
Then, a pair of polished black leather shoes appeared before her, perfectly stepping on the report.
And what’s this?” David asked, picking it up and unfolding it slowly.
“That’s minel” Caroline cried lunging to orah it back “ive it to me!“.

He glanced at it casually, but his expression darkened the instant he read its contents.
“Caroline,” he thundered, “so you’ve ended up carrying my child after all!”
