Caroline Is Pregnant
But David refused to see her. How am I supposed to get my message to David?
After thinking for a moment, Elizabeth looked up at Paul. “Can you do me a favor and pass along a message?”
“This…”
“Just one sentence,” Elizabeth said. “If you tell Mr. Ellison and he still refuses to see me, I’ll leave immediately.”

Her purpose wasn’t to beg for mercy or apologize–she was here to expose Caroline as being pregnant!
That was the reason Elizabeth had pushed herself this far. Otherwise, she would’ve left a long time ago. Why bother suffering here

Paul agreed. “Alright, you go ahead. But this will be the last time I pass along a message. If you bring her up again, Mr. Ellison is going to get angry.”
Elizabeth shakily stood up and whispered something in Paul’s ear.
It was just six words.
“Caroline is pregnant.”
Paul’s eyes widened in shock, and he gasped, quickly turning and rushing into the living room, not daring
to waste a moment.
He moved swiftly toward David and leaned in, quietly repeating those six words. David’s gaze immediately turned severe.
Without saying a word, he stood up and walked toward the door.
“Mr. Ellison!” Paul called, holding an umbrella, trying to catch
- up.
David’s steps were fast, not looking back as he walked into the downpour. Just then, a thunderclap echoed, rumbling through the sky, and Caroline felt her heart tighten.
She walked to the window, watching the scene unfold. Her unease grew stronger by the second.
David walked over to Elizabeth, his shoes wet with rain, slightly dirtied.
“Say it again,” David said, his hands at his sides. “Elizabeth, if you spread any more lies, I won’t spare you!”
His composure was gone. The look in his eyes was more terrifying than the storm itself.
Elizabeth looked up, replying, “Mr. Ellison, I would never lie to you. How could I spread such a huge lie? It’s true, Caroline’s lost her virginity and is pregnant… Mr. Ellison, why don’t you believe me?”
David stood tall, his whole body emanating hostility.
Paul stood behind him, holding the umbrella, trembling.

Caroline’s throat felt dry and scratchy, the darkness, the sound of rain, and the thunder made her feel like she was being swallowed whole.
David remained standing in place. But his subordinates were approaching.

Caroline took a step back, about to refuse, but the lead bodyguard spoke. “Ma’am, you know Mr. Ellison’s personality. Please cooperate… it’ll be less painful for you, and we’ll be able to report back.”
She turned her gaze toward the door, realizing that David had disappeared without her noticing.
Elizabeth was also nowhere to be seen.
