Chapter 38 “He definitely feels the mate bond and wants to be with you too“, she laughed as we neared the car that I just noticed was parked in front of the house. “Huh?” I asked. I wasn’t really paying attention to what she was saying. My attention was on the handsome man I left behind. What was that expression on his face? It couldn’t have been jealousy, I must have seen wrong. “I said Adrian likes you too and feels the mate bond. You should have seen his face when I mentioned Greg“, she said as she doubled over with laughter, letting go of my hand in the process. “You think so?” I asked her, my heart skipping a beat in anticipation. “I think? I laughed a bit before getting down after her and following her into the ice cream parlor. We entered and she seemed to be searching for something until I heard a loud voice from a secluded seat towards the back of the room. “Lyla, Lola, over here“, we looked towards the sound to see Avianca waving at us excitedly. We waved back at her before heading towards where they were seated. “Hi guys“, Lyla and I greeted them simultaneously before taking a seat. The one seat available after Lyla sat down was the one beside Greg. I remembered his words from last night and felt my cheeks growing hotter. That was the first time a guy would tell me that I deserve to be picked over everyone so it was kinda huge for me. “Hey Lola“, he said gently beside me, making me look into his face. Chapter 37 The next morning I woke up late and ran down in panic to see Rose and Jayden being cozy and comfortable on the living. room couch. They both looked up as I rushed into the living. room breathing heavily. “Wow, wow, calm down Lola. What’s the rush?” Rose laughed as soon as she saw me. I stopped to catch my breath as they both laughed at my expense. “I thought I was late for training“, I managed to squeeze out in between breaths. I tried turning it on but I couldn’t do so. I let it be on my vanity mirror before I went into the bathroom to bathe and do my business. I took a while in the bathroom. I did not really pay attention to it and left the bathroom I was picking my outfit for the day when a shrill sound came from my vanity desk. It wasn’t until I heard a knock filled by Lyla’s voice that I left my hideout. I ran over to the door, opened it quickly and dragged Lyla with me to hide again. Soon enough, the shrill sound came on again and I instantly went into hiding, only getting up when I heard Lyla laughing uncontrollably. She became even more hysterical with her laughter when she saw my confused face. I waited for her to stop laughing before I asked her what happened. “The shrill sound came from the phone, Lola. I was the one who called you initially before Rose let me in“, she said and I felt so embarrassed. “Oh, I had no idea“, I muttered as I walked towards my closet to pick some clothes. Lola must have noticed my mood. because she came towards me and held my hands. “I’m sorry if I made you feel embarrassed, I should have been more sensitive“, she pleaded and I nodded. She picked out my outfit which consisted of a black skinny jean, cute, mint green. top and a black sl*p on to go with it. She excused me after picking the outfit and I hurriedly put on my clothes so I won’t keep her waiting. I met Lyla in the living room talking animatedly with Rose. Those two can talk your ears if care is not taken. I cleared my throat to gain their attention. Chapter 36 I went in search of Fay immediately I left Lola. I was blinded by rage at her insolence. I clearly told her to stay away from Lola and she had the guts to go back and say shit to her? I spotted her in a group of people and walked over to her. I grabbed her arm and pulled her away from the group towards a slightly deserted corner of the pack house. “What did I tell you about Lola?” I barked in her face and she seemed unfazed. It was almost like she did it to lure me to her. She smiled lazily at me and I felt Daxon trying to take control. She must have noticed the incessant change in my eye colour because she trembled slightly and bowed her her. Chapter 31 Lyla and Nathan were k*ssing. I could not keep my surprise in and gasped loudly gaining their attention. They turned their attention to me and I felt like I was intruding on their moment so I hurriedly went back the way I came in. “Lola“, Lyla shouted after me and I froze in place. I slowly turned around to look at her and saw her whispering harshly to Nathan who kept pouting at her. Nathan is pouting? What a sight to see on the big bad Beta. Chapter 30 Jayden came to wake me up around 5am. I knew it was around that time because I could barely sleep from the excitement of embarking on my journey of self development. Jasmine was awake too, another reason I could not sleep well. Her excitement and constant chatter contributed to the reason I could not fall asleep back after waking up by 3am. I couldn’t blame her though. This is a big feat for us. He was surprised to see me awake and ready when he knocked on my door. I went to get the door and saw him already dressed up for training and that was when it occured to me that I had no clothes to train. I could have worn a sport bra but I wasn’t comfortable enough around people with my scars. “You’re awake already. I see you’re so excited to start training“, he smiled at me and I looked down shyly. “Get dressed and meet me downstairs in 10 minutes. I’d be waiting for you in the living room“, he said and turned back. She hugged me tightly before she went down the stairs too. I went into the bathroom to wash my face and brushed my teeth before hurrying back to the room. I hurriedly put on the clothes as I did not want to keep Jayden waiting. I put on a black Converse and made my way down the stairs. Rose was nowhere to be seen when I got there, so Jayden and I made our way to the basement with Jayden leading of course. It’s not like I have any idea how to reach the basement. We got to the gym and I was wowed by how amazing and big it looked.
