She’ll Beg Me Soon Enough
William hesitated, “Mr. David, this might be a bit…”

“…Understood.”
With this, Caroline could search the entire city and still not find a job.
Who would risk offending David for her sake?
What Caroline didn’t realize was that she had just been blacklisted from every company in town.
“Let’s go,” she said, grabbing Anna’s hand as they left the place without looking back. “We’ll try another company. If I have to work under David, I’ll lose twenty years off my life.”
Anna looked stunned. “Wait, Caroline. Did Mr. David reject your application? Why? He interviewed you personally! And you’re so talented. Remember that skincare lotion you developed in college? It’s still the star product of that brand, they sold millions of units!”
“Who knows what he’s thinking? Maybe he hit his head on a door or something. He acts all high and mighty, like, what’s he so proud of? He thinks the whole world should worship him. The man’s delusional, he’s a narcissistic bully who thinks being insufferable is somehow cool. Honestly, just looking at him ruins my appetite!”
Caroline continued dragging Anna along while venting her frustration the entire way. She was so caught up in her rant that she didn’t notice everyone staring at her.
Standing nearby, Boris turned to watch Caroline as she marched past him.
Who’s this woman? She has the audacity to openly insult David right inside his company, she’s not afraid to let everyone else hear her. I’ve never seen such a bold woman before. Is she out of her mind, or is she simply tired of living? Boris thought.
Just then, William happened to walk by, and Boris stopped him, “Hold on. That woman who just walked by, what’s her story?”
“Mr. Boris,” William’s expression turned awkward. “I… Its complicated. Maybe you should ask Mr. David yourself.”
Boris grew curious, “Oh? Is that so?”
He made a mental note to investigate further.
In the interview room, Boris pushed the door open and pulled out a chair’to sit beside David.
“Wow, look at you, Mr. CEO,” he teased while crossing his legs. “Covering for me while I’m busy. I’m so honored. I got here as soon as possible, we don’t want to exhaust you too much now, do we?”
David shot him a cold look.
Boris smirked as he flipped through the candidate files. “So, how’s the interview going? Anyone promising? Oh, wait, isn’t this the woman who was just cursing you out? Caroline, huh? Why does that name sound

He paused and tried to recall where he’d heard it before
“No need to strain yourself,” David said flatly. “She’s my wife.”
Boris’s expression cleared. “Ah, I see now.”
“What was she saying about me?”
Boris coughed, clearly amused. “Oh, you know, nothing important. Let’s focus on the task at hand.”

David scoffed. “No need to play dumb. I already know. She’s openly wished for my death before, her dream is to be a widow.”
That did it. Boris couldn’t hold back anymore and burst out laughing. “Oh man, talk about finding your match! Who knew you’d end up outwitted by your own wife? Marrying her was worth it, wasn’t it? Life must be pretty entertaining for you these days.”
“You think she’s gotten the upper hand?”
Boris gave him a serious answer. “From where I’m standing, she doesn’t seem to care about you at all. What’s the deal between you two? One of you plays the lead interviewer, the other shows up as a candidate. Couldn’t you have sorted this out at home?”
David rose from his chair. “What’s there to sort out? Caroline will beg me for help soon enough.”
He was simply waiting for the moment she’d come crawling back, admitting her mistake.
